A special discussion on the provision of humanitarian aid for the affected Turkish people was held at Araliyagaha Mandir under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena on the instructions of the President.
Government institutions, non-government institutions and the private sector together discussed the essential basic facilities and labor contribution that can be provided to the Turkish people at this moment.
It was planned to send a military battalion including doctors and engineers trained in UN humanitarian operations to support the Turkish people, and to send government and private sector products to Turkey.
This program is implemented through a committee headed by Prime Minister’s Secretary Anura Dissanayake.
